Hello DoReDos, thank you for time and let us know you a little more.
Start telling us about DoReDos, a general review of your career. How did you meet, why did you decide to join?
DoReDoS – is a Moldovan folk-pop trio formed in 2011. Originally, our band was called “Art Band”, but before participating in the national selection of Eurovision 2015 ( O Melodie Pentru Europa) we decided to change the band`s name to “DoReDoS”. The name is taken from the first two notes of the musical scale. Our trio is made up of Marina Djundyet, Eugeniu Andrianov and Sergiu Mîța. We are all three come from a small city, which is located on the left bank of the Dniester River – Rybnitsa. There we met and decided together to form a musical band.
We participated in different contests in Moldova, Romania, Russia, Belarus. Now we have a wonderful opportunity to represent our country Moldova in Eurovision 2018. It was our big dream for a long time.
Marina, Eugeniu and Sergiu, if you could be defined with three emotions, what would they be?
Interesting question… It maybe cheerful, touching and with tons of emotions.
You tried to represent Moldova in the past but your name started sound stronger after winning the Russian Contest Orbit, then you became favorites in the O Melodie Pentru Europe since the beginning, did you feel pressure for that?
Every time when we are going to represent our name and our country in contests we have a pressure because we don’t want to disappoint people who really believe in us. When you become an artist, in our opinion you have no right to make mistakes, we work hard all the time, without measure in our life. We have a huge team behind us, which we must not fail.
How did the idea of participating in the O melodie pentru Europa come again?
We had twice previously attempted to represent Moldova at Eurovision in 2015 and 2016 and were very close to win, but the victory was a step away from us. In 2017 we made a pause in national selection because at that time for us there were other priorities and desires. It was the participation in the contest New Wave in Sochi . We did everything what was possible from us and we won the contest. There we caught the attention of Russian singer, and our songwriter now, Philipp Kirkorov. He said to us that our next step after New Wave must be Eurovision and he wasready to help us in this. We didn’t think for a long time what to say to him, because this opportunity can be for once in our life and we said YES! In October 2017 we went to Moscow for the recording our song “My lucky day”.
You raze in the votes of Jury and televoting, What came to your mind at the time you were named as Moldovan representatives in Eurovision 2018?
Oh, it was incredible moment. We couldn’t even believe that it was happening to us and the first thing what came in our minds was: “Don’t relax!”
Sunstroke Project achieved the best historical result in the country last year with an excellent third place. It is an additional responsibility to get the same place or even winning ESC?
We think that every artist who actually represented Moldova in ESC have the responsibility to represent Moldova with dignity and bring home a good – and if you are lucky – the best result, how happened last year. Our task now is not to perform worse, and make the whole country proud of you. We promise that we promise we will do our best on our side!
Which is the story behind the lyrics of “My lucky day”? how it was born?
This song is written by Philip Kirkorov and lyrics by John Ballard, and thanks to their experience at Eurovision, they know how to attract the attention of the audience. When Filip Kirkorov sent us the demo version of the song “My lucky day”, we were in our car on our way to a rehearsal. We fell in love in this song from the first note.
What is the message you want to tell with “My Lucky day” in Eurovision?
This is a description of emotions that can lead to the events of one lucky and happy day.
What expectations you have with your participation in Eurovision?
Eurovision is already a good step in the life of every singer. We are waiting the brightest and most positive emotions, new and interesting friends, to share our music in a whole Europe, Australia and of course, we really want to have fun and enjoy the contest.
Eurovision is a festival followed by hundreds of eurofans in the countries of Latin America. Did you know this?
Wow, very interesting. No, we didn’t know about this. Hope that in a future Eurovision will transform in Worldvision, and all countries from Latin America will give 12 points to Moldova. Haha!.. Just a joke, but who knows.
Do you have any latino musical reference?
Some special Latino musical reference can’t say for sure but, we think that your culture is similar to ours, Moldavian. We like to dance and to sing and it comes from the deep of our hearts, to feel the love and passion. A lot of people from Latin America countries are writing to us that love our song, and they believe in us. Thank you for your support!
Would you like to visit our countries later or you have done it already?
We haven’t been to your countries, but with a great pleasure would like to visit all of them!
Finally, a message for our readers…
We would like to say for all fans: “Enjoy to watch the contest performances, follow us on our Facebook and Instagram pages. Thank you for your support!”
