Hi Zibbz, it is a pleasure for us to talk with you and get to know something more about this duo and your participation in Eurovision.

Here we go!

Who are musically Zibbz? Tell us about your kind of music, influences, etc.
We’re a Swiss sibling duo – home in Los Angeles & Zurich. Living for music – with no plan B. Our parents already met in a Rock’n’Roll band. They both still play music, we hence grew up surrounded by musicians, listening to Rock’n’Roll. Blues, Rock and Soul was always a big inspiration for us (The Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, Led Zepplin). Nowadays we love artists like 21pilots, Jack White, Paramore, Beck, No Doubt and Pink.

If you could be defined with three emotions, what would they be?
Inviting, groovy, powerful

Almost ten years of musical experience in this duo. How has your professional career been in Switzerland and the United States?
We’ve both always worked at the “Summer Shows” they’d have at our schools in Switzerland. Stee had his own Rock’n’Roll band and Coco was working for kid’s musicals and after her studies for “We will rock you” (Queens) and “Grease”.

Coco studied at the Laine Theatre Arts in London and Stee at Institute for Music in Winterthur. We both knew that it would be hard as an English singing band in Switzerland which is why we hopped on a plan to LA seven years ago.

Corinne and Stee Gfeller are siblings. What is it like to work daily with each other, how do you solve your differences?
We don’t work together because we are siblings. We work together because we complete each other perfectly and we’re completely on the same page. It isn’t always easy, as we travel, work and live together. But the longer the better we work together and grow to be a well-established team.

How the idea to participate in the “Die Grosse Entscheidungsshow” came to your mind?
The idea originally came from friends of ours that worked at ESC. We always had in mind to perform on ESC ourselves one day but never felt our kind of music/performance really had a chance until the more recent years when more diverse acts and songs became more accepted.

We would love to know the story behind the lyrics of “Stones” how it was born?
We wrote «Stones» in a songwrite-camp with the Canadian songwriter Laurell Barker.

The message is something which moves us all deeply and sadly still is a problem in today’s world. It’s about inclusion, equality, diversity and tolerance. It’s a call to stand up against bullying and hate.

What expectations do you have with your participation in Eurovision?
Every musician/performer dreams to be on a world stage like this and of course we have too 🙂 But now that it’s reality, its kind of unreal! The best we can do is to perform 120% like we try to do in every show (in little bars and also big concert halls). Do what we do best – music – and enjoy every minute of it!

Have you thought about changes in the song and, in the staging?
That’s a surprise 🙂
